Job summary

SB Joinery in Andover is seeking an Estimator to join our on-site team. You will review drawings, perform takeoffs, and liaise with design, production and project management to ensure estimates reflect technical and practical requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and numerical skills for cost estimating and budget preparation.
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and IT tools for data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of joinery, construction, or related trades, including materials, manufacturing processes, and installation methods.
• Effective communication and collaboration with design, production, suppliers and clients.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Experience in high-end residential or conservation projects is highly beneficial.
• Relevant vocational training or a qualification in construction, quantity surveying, or a related discipline is preferred.
• On-site work in Stockbridge with full-time hours; WFH 1 day/week after probation.

Role Description -

The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Andover, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for bespoke joinery projects. Day-to-day activities include reviewing drawings and specifications, conducting takeoffs, and liaising with design, production, and project management teams to ensure estimates reflect technical and practical requirements. The role involves obtaining and analyzing supplier and subcontractor quotations, preparing tender documents, and supporting pricing strategies for conservation and high-end residential work. The Estimator will maintain estimating databases, contribute to value engineering proposals, and provide clear, timely cost information to support decision-making and project delivery.
