Job summary

Options Resourcing Ltd is partnering with a specialist joinery and fit-out business in London to recruit a Senior Joinery / Fit-Out Estimator. You will own tenders from enquiry to submission, producing detailed, first-principles estimates for bespoke packages.

You will review drawings and specs, manage multiple tenders, and collaborate with clients, design teams, suppliers and subcontractors to drive value and secure successful outcomes on high-end commercial projects.

• Strong first-principles estimating experience.

• Experience with estimating and take-off software advantageous.

Senior Joinery / Fit-Out Estimator

Location: London
Salary: up to £70,000

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Joinery / Fit-Out Estimator to join an established and growing specialist business operating within the high-end joinery, interiors and commercial fit-out sector.

This is a key opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator, Joinery Estimator or Fit-Out Estimator with a proven track record of pricing complex and high-quality projects.

The successful candidate will take ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and adjudication, working closely with clients, consultants, design teams, suppliers, subcontractors and internal commercial and delivery teams.

The Role

• Managing tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission.
• Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for bespoke joinery and fit-out packages.
• Producing detailed estimates using first-principles estimating.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Carrying out detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
• Preparing subcontractor and supplier enquiries.
• Reviewing and appraising supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors where required.
• Calculating labour, material, installation and preliminary costs.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Identifying design alternatives and value engineering opportunities.
• Liaising with clients, consultants and design teams throughout the tender process.
• Preparing and presenting tenders at adjudication meetings.
• Ensuring all risks and exclusions are clearly identified.
• Supporting the successful handover of projects from tender to delivery.
• Building and maintaining strong client, supplier and subcontractor relationships.
• Supporting junior estimators and contributing to the continued development of the estimating function.

About You

• Significant experience within joinery estimating, fit-out estimating or specialist construction estimating.
• Strong experience within bespoke or architectural joinery.
• A proven track record of first-principles estimating.
• Experience working on high-end commercial fit-out projects.
• Strong CAT A / CAT B experience would be advantageous.
• Experience across sectors such as hospitality, luxury residential, commercial interiors, retail or high-end fit-out.
• Excellent understanding of drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills.
• Experience managing supplier and subcontractor enquiries.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience presenting tenders and estimates at adjudication.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Experience with estimating and take-off software would be advantageous.
