Job summary

Linear Recruitment is seeking an Estimator for civil engineering and water infrastructure projects, offering Hybrid/Flexible work arrangements across major UK infrastructure frameworks. You will prepare cost estimates, review tender docs, Bills of Quantities, and collaborate with bid, planning and procurement teams to support client negotiations and handovers to delivery teams.

Estimator – Civil Engineering / Water Infrastructure

We're recruiting an Estimator to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the water sector.

Working as part of an established pre-construction team, you'll play a key role in securing work on high-value frameworks, collaborating with bid, planning, procurement and operational teams to produce accurate, competitive tenders.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects across the water sector.
• Reviewing tender documents, drawings and Bills of Quantities to develop robust pricing and methodologies.
• Working closely with bid, planning and procurement teams to identify risks, opportunities and key assumptions.
• Presenting estimates at tender adjudications and supporting client negotiations where required.
• Providing detailed handovers to delivery teams following contract award.

What we're looking for

• Estimating experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities.
• Knowledge of projects such as pipelines, MEICA, tunnelling, shafts, rail civils or groundworks.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience producing tender build-ups and using estimating software (Candy or similar).
• Confident communicator who enjoys collaborating across technical and operational teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. Chartered status is beneficial but not essential.
