Job summary

ICS – Roofing, Cladding & Flat Roofing Specialists in Lewes is seeking an on-site Estimator. You will review drawings, specs and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for roofing, cladding and flat roofing projects.

Responsibilities include material take-offs, obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotes, producing detailed bid submissions and cost breakdowns, updating pricing databases, and handing over successful tenders to the delivery team to keep projects on budget.

Qualifications

• Strong estimating skills in construction or roofing, including experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Solid numerical, analytical, and Excel skills for quantity take-offs, cost modeling, and bid preparation.
• Knowledge of roofing, cladding, and building envelope systems, materials, and installation methods.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
• Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Proficiency with CAD drawings and familiarity with estimating or project management software is beneficial.
• Previous experience in an estimating, quantity surveying, or related construction role is preferred.
• Relevant technical or vocational qualification in construction, quantity surveying, or a related field is an advantage.

Role Description

The Estimator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Lewes. The Estimator will review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for roofing, cladding, and flat roofing projects.
