Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Estimator to join a specialist construction business delivering complex projects across the UK. Based in Leeds, you will develop accurate costs from enquiry through tender, applying first principles and bottom-up methods for civil, rail, infrastructure and multidisciplinary schemes.

Qualifications

  • HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related discipline, or equivalent practical estimating experience
  • Strong numerical and analytical capability. Ability to prepare first principles and bottom-up estimates.
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and estimating software. Good communication and organisational skills
  • Understanding of Civil Engineering and/or Rail construction methodologies. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Knowledge of resource-based estimating principles

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions across civil engineering, rail, infrastructure, marine and multidisciplinary construction projects.
  • Develop estimates using first principles and bottom-up methodologies, covering labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, logistics and productivity.
  • Complete detailed quantity take-offs and interpret drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities, contracts and technical documentation.
  • Develop and review Schedule of Rates, subcontractor quotations, benchmark costs and historical pricing to ensure accurate tenders.
  • Identify commercial, technical, operational and programme risks, while supporting tender adjudications, value engineering and alternative construction proposals.
  • Collaborate with operational, engineering, planning and commercial teams to ensure estimates are practical, buildable and aligned with project delivery requirements

Elevation Recruitment Group are seeking an experienced Estimator, to join a specialist construction business, who deliver complex projects across the UK.

Based in Leeds, this is a great opportunity to contribute to an established commercial team by using your technical understanding of fabrication and engineering processes, to develop accurate costs for complex, bespoke projects from enquiry through to tender. The role:

To be considered for the role you will need:
