Job summary

• High attention to detail, numeracy, and organization across quotes and deadlines.
• Experience as an Estimator or in a closely related joinery/fabrication role is beneficial.
• Relevant technical or vocational qualification in construction or joinery preferred.

JBL provides design-to-delivery solutions, producing all items in-house at an advanced manufacturing facility using materials such as Corian, HI-MACS, veneered and solid timber, laminates, stone, and metal. Role Description The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Feltham, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for bespoke joinery and furniture projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings and specifications, analyzing material and labor requirements, and producing detailed quotations in line with project briefs and client expectations. The role involves collaborating closely with design, production, and project management teams to clarify requirements, assess feasibility, and ensure estimates reflect manufacturing capabilities and timelines. The Estimator will liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing, evaluate alternatives, and maintain up-to-date cost databases for materials and services. The position also includes supporting the sales and project teams with value engineering options, tracking estimate revisions, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.

Qualifications

• Strong estimating and cost analysis skills for bespoke joinery, furniture, or construction/interiors projects, including interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with estimating and office software (e.g., Excel, estimating packages, CAD or drawing review tools) and the ability to work with digital documentation and databases.
• Knowledge of joinery manufacturing processes, materials (e.g., solid surfaces, timber, laminates, metals, stone), and production workflows, or experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with design, production, project management, suppliers, and clients, including clear written quotation and report preparation.
• Strong attention to detail, numeracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple quotes, deadlines, and changing priorities.
• Previous experience as an Estimator or in a closely related role within joinery, furniture, fit-out, or construction is highly beneficial.
• Relevant technical or vocational qualification in construction, quantity surveying, joinery, manufacturing, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
