Job summary

OCS Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a hands-on Estimator to join a well-established RC frame and groundworks subcontractor. You will prepare tender estimates, take-offs from drawings, prepare bills of quantities and analyse specifications to deliver competitive bids.

We are seeking candidates with at least 2 years' estimating experience in RC frame or groundworks, strong numerical and Excel skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced tendering environment.

• Proficient in take-offs and bill preparation.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Proficient in Excel and other estimating tools.

Responsibilities

Job description

A well-established RC Frame and Groundworks subcontractor is looking for an Estimator to join their team. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with at least 2 years' experience estimating RC frame or groundworks packages, and who is confident with take-offs and bill preparation.

The Role

• Prepare tender estimates for RC frame and groundworks projects
• Complete take-offs from drawings and prepare bills of quantities accurately and efficiently
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and methodologies to produce competitive, buildable bids
• Engage with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to gather pricing and input
• Support preconstruction and commercial teams with cost breakdowns, risk assessments, and tender reporting
• Ensure estimates are accurate, consistent, and compliant with client and company requirements

The Ideal Candidate

• Have at least 2 years' experience estimating RC frame and/or groundworks projects
• Be confident in take-offs, bills preparation, and cost analysis
• Be commercially aware and able to identify risks and opportunities in project scopes
• Have excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
• Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and other estimating tools
• Be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced tendering environment
