Job summary

Future Build Recruitment are working with a well-established civil engineering specialist who are seeking an experienced Intermediate / Senior Estimator to strengthen their commercial team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, pricing projects from drawings and specifications, and working with delivery teams to ensure projects are priced effectively and delivered within budget.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator within civil engineering.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methods.
• Experience pricing tenders from drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders independently.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Relevant civil engineering or construction qualification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and tenders for civil engineering projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Produce accurate cost plans and bills of quantities.
• Obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify project risks, opportunities and potential cost savings.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Attend tender meetings and site visits where required.
• Supporting the preparation of tender submissions.
• Maintaining accurate estimating records and cost databases.
• Working closely with the delivery team during the handover of successful tenders.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, working closely with the commercial and operational teams to ensure projects are priced effectively and delivered within budget.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for civil engineering projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Producing accurate cost plans and bills of quantities
• Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotationsIdentifying project risks, opportunities and potential cost savings
• Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
• Attending tender meetings and site visits where required
• Supporting the preparation of tender submissions
• Maintaining accurate estimating records and cost databases
