Job summary

MTrec Ltd Technical is seeking an Estimator with a background in machining to join a focused team. You will calculate costs from sketches and time studies, source materials and subcontract prices, and draft quotes for service/repair jobs.

The role emphasises accuracy, quality, cost, and delivery within a small, collaborative group. Ideal candidates will have mechanical engineering experience, be proficient in Excel and Word, and comfortable using ERP systems to maintain data and improve

• Experience estimating in a machining environment.
• Accurate and flexible approach to all matters.
• Proficient in Excel and Word with good ERP experience.
• Ability to work in a small, multi-disciplined team.

Our client are specialists in their market sector; they are now looking to recruit an Estimator on a permanent basis.

If you have estimating experience within a machining environment, this role could be ideal for you.

The Job you'll do

• The successful applicant will report directly to the Sales Director whilst supporting a busy production team.
• Ideally with a background in machining and with experience of calculating time spent on tasks within a machine shop.
• Calculate job costs using company ERP system, EFACS.
• Utilise sketches and drawings to determine task times in a conventional machine shop.
• Source material and subcontract prices.
• Interpret detailed repair plans to estimate the costs of service/repair jobs.
• Collate all the above into complete repair quotes and draft quotations to the customer.
• Maintain records of calculations in a database.
• Utilise same database to improve efficiency.

About You

• Fully committed to Quality, Cost and Delivery.
• An accurate and flexible approach to all matters.
• Proficient in Excel and Word with good experience of ERP systems.
• Ability to work within a small but multi-disciplined team.
• Mechanical Engineering background.

The Rewards and the Benefits

• Salary negotiable dependent on experience.
• 37 Hours per week: 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 12:30 Friday.
• 25 days per year, plus bank holidays.
