Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Estates Sustainability Manager to join our Energy and Sustainability Team within the Business Services Directorate. The role focuses on embedding the Estates Decarbonisation Plan across the Estates & Facilities Management division, driving efficiencies in waste, water and energy and ensuring sustainable design principles are followed.

You will collaborate across the division to embed change, manage reports, and contribute to climate and biodiversity objectives

Qualifications

• Good organisational and project management skills to handle changing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong understanding of corporate sustainability and built environment principles.
• Experience in environmental strategy, behaviour change and resource management.
• Demonstrate carbon reduction project experience.

Responsibilities

• Embed the Estates Decarbonisation Plan to reduce emissions from energy, water and waste through collaboration and reporting.
• Own the sustainability annex within the Estates and FM design guide for new builds or retrofits.
• Act as SME across environmental sustainability for projects spanning Estates and FM.
• Lead Green Network behaviour change campaigns and organise monthly meetings and events.
• Support wider E+FM division on climate adaptation, biodiversity and Greening Government commitments.
