The Senior Technician will participate in a shift system plus On Call responsibilities.
The person appointed will be a suitably qualified Electrical or Mechanical Technician with significant relevant practical experience.
They will be able to carry out their role and perform work with minimal managerial input at all times, escalating serious matters to the relevant manager as appropriate.
The Senior Technician will perform highly complex activities on a range of Estates plant and systems, including PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance), breakdowns, and job requests both inside and outside normal working hours, to ensure the Trust's essential services run 24/7.
They will have thorough knowledge of technical data, specifications, and issues related to a wide range of Estates plant, equipment, and systems.
The Senior Technician will advise, instruct, and train colleagues and other groups in the safe operation of equipment and systems.
They will liaise with Trust staff regarding Estates work issues and provide concise, detailed responses verbally and in writing.
They will communicate complex technical and safety advice effectively to a wide range of groups, including department colleagues, other Trust staff, contractors, patients, and the public, especially in emergencies. This may involve formal training or informal daily routines, always ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures.
They will communicate maintenance and repair schedules with all levels of Trust staff to ensure smooth operations and continuity of patient care.
