Job summary

Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a painter and decorator to deliver high-quality decorating across the Trust estate. The role includes planning, surveying, estimating materials, and reinstating fixtures while ensuring safety compliance.

You will work on internal and external projects, coordinate with clinical and non-clinical teams, and maintain records using electronic systems and PDA devices in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting and decorating for large estates.
• Ability to plan surveys, measure and estimate materials.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations (COSHH, PUWER, Working at Height).

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive painting and decorating service for all areas of the Trust.
• Carry out painting maintenance tasks to keep properties in good condition.
• Plan and undertake decorating works from survey to completion, including measuring and ordering materials.
• Liaise with staff and patients to minimise disruption and meet user requirements.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and manage stock levels.
• Supervise contractors and update work records using electronic systems and PDA devices.
• Work safely and in compliance with health and safety policies.
