Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an Estates professional with specialist knowledge in electrical and mechanical engineering to lead the in-house maintenance team and coordinate external contractors. You will manage day-to-day operation of the CAFM system, assign maintenance work, and ensure safe systems of work in line with HTM standards.

• Carry out dynamic risk assessments


• Organising and rectifying reactive works


• Managing scheduled work on the K2 system


• Responsibility for ensuring safe systems of work


• Responsible for the safe maintenance, assembly, dismantling and repair of equipment others may use.


• Asset capture & review of the estate plant


• Management of the in-house workforce and contractors


• Ordering parts as required

The role is focussed on managing the in-house maintenance team & external contractors day to day, maintenance 'ppm and responsive'. You will be working with a huge range of colleagues, including clinical staff, to support them in delivering excellent patient care, so strong communication skills are essential. Leeds Teaching Hospitals is a large organisation with a huge portfolio of property, equipment, and systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on a varied role, be responsible for ensuring safe systems of work are maintained in line with HTM's and recognised codes of practice by carrying out Authorised Person Duties.
