Job summary

NHS Highland is seeking an Estates Officer to support Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. The role covers the NHSH estate with responsibilities for coordinating contractors and in-house teams, managing maintenance and small projects, and responding to breakdowns while prioritising patient care.

The post is based mainly at Raigmore Hospital with some travel across NHSH. A UK driving licence is essential, and on-call duties (1:6) may be required; experience in healthcare is advantageous.

At NHS Highland we have a full-time vacancy within our Estates Department for an Estates Officer to coverNHSH at Raigmore Hospital.

The successful candidateenthusiastic and motivatedindividualable to react and think quickly on how to deal with breakdowns within the NHSH Estate, manage small scale projects and efficiently arrange for contractors or in house trades teams to carry out maintenance work safely.The post is primarily based at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, there may be times where the post holder may be required to travel to sites all over NHSH region.Theposition will requireeffective management and prioritisation tocontribute to the provision of excellent patient care.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience of managing a team and Contractors.
  • A current UK driving licence is essential.
  • Applicants must have a recognisedqualifications as detailed in the job description.
  • Experience within a health care environment would beadvantageous.
  • A great teamplayer who is self-motivated.
  • A flexible approach to work is essential as variations to the standard working week may be necessaryand willing toparticipatein the 1:6 on-call rota.
