Job summary

The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) in Liverpool is recruiting an Estates Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with either an electrical or mechanical background. The role involves maintaining and improving our Liverpool site, including BMS, HVAC, pumps and critical building services.

You will join a dynamic estates team and participate in planned and reactive maintenance, with on-call responsibilities of 1 week in every 4.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Electrical qualification to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) with building services experience.
• Experience installing, maintaining and fault-finding electrical or mechanical building services systems.
• Good problem-solving skills, flexible, and able to work independently; training provided as needed.
• Experience with building management systems, HVAC, electrical distribution, and fire alarm systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on low voltage electrical systems and building services.
• Maintain and fault-find BMS, fire alarms, security systems, and HVAC equipment.
• Service AHUs, pumps and associated building services equipment.
• Provide on-call support as part of a rota (1 week in 4) to ensure site operations.
