Bath Spa University is seeking an Estates technician to maintain the university's mechanical infrastructure across academic, residential and historic campuses. The role covers HVAC, heating, cooling, water systems and biomass/energy centres, ensuring safe, comfortable and operational buildings for students and staff.

You will deliver planned and reactive maintenance, supervise contractors, manage parts and support the safety and regulatory requirements across Bath Spa's estates.

Competenze

• Fault finding across mechanical building services.
• Experience in maintenance or facilities management environment.
• Ability to read/interpret mechanical drawings/schematics.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and safe systems of work.
• Strong communication with stakeholders and teams.

Mansioni

• Deliver planned, reactive and corrective maintenance across mechanical services.
• Fault find, repair HVAC, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, heat pumps and water systems.
• Coordinate boiler servicing and gas safety inspections; ensure compliance.
• Support operation of biomass boilers, energy centres and district heating.
• Supervise specialist contractors on mechanical systems across the estate.
• Coordinate water hygiene testing and compliance per L8 guidance.
• Procure parts and assist stock management; maintain accurate records.
• Share technical knowledge and support colleague development.
• Undertake minor plumbing and general building tasks as needed.
• Keep plant rooms clean, safe and operational; minimise disruption with users.
