Job summary

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Estates Mechanical Lead Technician to join the Estates Operations team at Torbay Hospital in Torquay. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical plant to support a safe, clean environment for patients and staff.

The ideal candidate will have a level 3 BTEC/City & Guilds or an apprenticeship in mechanical/building services, with hands-on fault diagnosis, and a willingness to work a 4-day week with on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Level 3 BTEC/City & Guilds or apprenticeship in mechanical/building services.
• Experience with mechanical assets repair and maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose faults and work with controls/systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical plant and estate services to ensure suitable environment.
• Deliver repair and planned maintenance activities, including PPMS.
• Respond to on-call duties and adapt shift times as required.
• Provide guidance to staff/contractors on safety and procedures.
