Job summary

United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust seeks a motivated Maintenance Technician (Estates, Band 5) based at Grantham Hospital. You will support the Estates & Capital Services team, planning and delivering maintenance activities, and ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance in a dynamic NHS environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering work, collaboration with clinical staff, and opportunities for professional development within a large UK health trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Engineering focused education or equivalent required.
• Apprenticeship with relevant experience is desirable.
• Specialist training in hospital engineering services is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise operational maintenance for the estates maintenance team.
• Act as Authorised or Competent Person as required.
• Support delivery of Estates Services across designated site(s).
• Provide technical and non-technical advice to clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Develop maintenance policies and ensure compliance with HTM/BS guidelines.
• Define detailed PPMs and maintenance specifications using O&M, HTMs and statutory guidelines.

Education

BTec Level 4 HNC or equivalent in engineering

Completed recognised Apprenticeship with relevant experience

Specialist technical training in plant, infrastructure and building services

Knowledge of Estates service delivery and maintenance procedures
