Job summary

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an Estates Engineering technician to maintain mechanical and electrical systems across the Trust’s estate. The role covers reactive tasks, planned preventative maintenance, and upgrades to support safe, reliable building services.

You will work to permit to work processes, risk assessments and on-call rota duties, with opportunities to contribute across sites and support critical hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Undertake breakdown repairs and planned maintenance across mechanical & electrical building services.
• Perform testing and commissioning of equipment to verify safety and operation.
• Manage a wide range of maintenance tasks and respond to reactive faults.
• Assist in upgrades and expanding renewable technologies to reduce carbon footprint.
• Maintain safe working practices, use permit-to-work documents and complete risk assessments.
• Be available for additional hours and provide out-of-hours call-out cover as required.
