Job summary

Hedyn invites applications for an Estates Operative (Grounds) based at Malpas Depot. The six-month internal secondment offers a chance to gain experience in grounds and estate services while contributing to the upkeep of neighbourhoods and housing areas.

You will perform outdoor maintenance, inspections, litter clearance, and partnership work with community groups, ensuring clean, safe, and well-maintained grounds.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in grounds/estate maintenance.
• Ability to communicate with residents and contractors.
• Commitment to health & safety and to maintaining clean, safe environments.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with residents, trades, and contractors to ensure good service.
• Carry out grounds maintenance such as vegetation removal, hedge cutting, grass cutting, weed control.
• Conduct daily safety checks of works vehicle and record results.
• Clear litter and fly tipping on Hedyn land; maintain communal areas.
• Maintain stock of materials and ensure safe storage of equipment.
• Assist with winter grit management and snow clearance on main pathways.
• Work with partners and agencies on estate issues and projects.
