Job summary

MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology is seeking a Services Coordinator to manage day-to-day estates operations across Cambridge Biomedical Campus and Babraham campuses. You will prioritise maintenance tasks, line-manage E&F technicians, and oversee subcontractors while ensuring compliance and safety in a high-technology research environment.

Qualifications

• Essential: Professional qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering services.
• Essential: Full UK driving licence.
• Essential: Must live within 45 minutes to reach sites when on-call.

Responsibilities

• Manage the PPM and reactive maintenance programme for the LMB buildings on CAMBRIDGE BIOMEDICAL CAMPUS and Babraham Research Campus; prioritise and complete works to minimise impact on operations.
• Line manage E&F technicians and oversee external sub-contractors; schedule duties.
• Oversee the building management system (BMS) and ensure M&E systems support scientific research.
• Diagnose faults, analyse complex information and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver building modifications and small works projects; act as works supervisor for larger projects.
• Coordinate with scientific staff to ensure FM services support research programmes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and assist with risk assessments and method statements.
