Job summary

The University of Cambridge is hiring a Research Laboratory Floor Coordinator for the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute. The role is on-site and full-time (36.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday).

You will support communal laboratory areas and core equipment, liaise with research groups to organise servicing that may impact their work, and contribute to health and safety management. You will provide inductions and training, write risk assessments and ensure observed safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent in a science subject.
• At least 1 year of practical experience supporting a research laboratory.
• Experience looking after a range of lab equipment.
• Awareness of health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate communal laboratory areas and core equipment; liaise with research groups to organise servicing.
• Contribute to health and safety management, providing inductions and training to researchers; write risk assessments and ensure safety procedures are observed.
• Be a key point of contact for staff, students and visitors; communicate effectively and manage own time.
