Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join a local authority's Tenancy Management team. You will manage a designated housing patch, resolve tenancy breaches and ensure residents receive support to sustain tenancies.

The role emphasizes inspecting estates, coordinating support, and liaising with internal and external partners to address neighbourhood issues and complex complaints.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Housing Officer or similar in local authority or housing association.
• Strong knowledge of tenancy management laws, policies and procedures.
• Experience managing a housing patch and conducting estate inspections.
• Experience handling tenancy breaches and complex housing disputes.
• Ability to identify vulnerable residents and coordinate appropriate support.
• Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities.
• Proficient in maintaining accurate case records.

Responsibilities

• Manage a designated housing patch from sign-up to termination.
• Investigate and resolve tenancy breaches including anti-social behaviour and hate crime.
• Conduct estate and property inspections and address safety/condition issues.
• Identify vulnerable tenants and coordinate appropriate support.
• Handle complex tenancy management complaints including inquiries from elected members and MPs.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies and support providers.
• Organise and attend multi-agency meetings and resident engagement activities.
• Help residents identify local priorities and develop neighbourhood initiatives.
