Job summary

SSE Renewables is seeking an Estate Surveyor to provide land support and advice to the Asset Management directorate for the SSER portfolio of wind and hydro projects across GB. The role focuses on securing land rights, negotiating with landowners, and guiding development from inception through delivery to support a cleaner energy future.

You will lead lease negotiations, identify land-related risks, and build strong relationships with landowners, agents, solicitors, and authorities.

Qualifications

Experience in utilities or renewables preferred.
Knowledge of land rights to maximise project potential.
Understanding of property/land ownership, landlord and tenant law and planning.
Strong commercial and negotiation skills for leases, options and easements.
Ability to identify land risks and propose mitigations.

Responsibilities

Lead negotiations with landlords/landowners and tenants on leases and rent reviews.
Ensure timely acquisition of land rights to maximise portfolio potential.
Identify land-related risks and provide practical advice for decisions.
Advise stakeholders on obligations within windfarm and hydro project documents.
Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, agents, solicitors and authorities.
