Job summary

MHS Homes is seeking an Estate Services Resilience Operative on a fixed-term contract to August 2027. The role emphasises caretaking, cleaning, grounds maintenance, and waste services to keep communities clean, safe and well maintained for residents.

You will maintain communal areas, assist with winter services, and support estate services teams, using handheld devices to report tasks and ensuring safety at all times.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, cleaning, grounds maintenance, or waste services.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic maintenance or DIY skills.
• Experience using handheld devices for reporting tasks.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain internal and external communal areas to keep environments safe and welcoming for residents.
• Clean communal areas including halls, stairs, landings, and lifts.
• Remove litter and waste from communal spaces.
• Maintain refuse areas, bin stores, and chute systems.
• Check and maintain communal lighting.
• Support basic grounds maintenance such as litter picking and vegetation control.
• Assist with winter services including snow clearance and gritting.
• Support wider estate services teams where required.
• Remove fly tipping and bulky waste from estates.
• Assist with clearance of void properties and communal areas.
• Report environmental issues such as anti-social behaviour, vandalism, and dog fouling.
• Ensure estates are clean, presentable, and free from hazards.

We are looking for a proactive and customer focused Estate Services Resilience Operative to join our team on a fixed term contract until August 2027, with a strong emphasis on caretaking services across our estates. This is a varied role where you will play a key part in keeping our communities clean, safe, and well maintained, delivering a high-quality service to our residents every day. While the role includes elements of grounds maintenance and waste services, it is rooted in caretaking excellence, ensuring communal areas are maintained to the highest standards.

What you'll be doing

Caretaking and Cleaning

• Cleaning communal areas including halls, stairs, landings, and lifts
