Job summary

Adecco is recruiting for an Estate Services Operative (Cleaning) to cover sites across Hastings, East Sussex. This temporary, part-time role runs Monday to Friday, 7:00am–2:00pm, with the pay rate of £13.92 per hour and duties across communal areas.

You will operate cleaning machinery, follow COSHH and safety procedures, and travel between sites as required. A basic DBS and full UK driving licence are essential.

• Willingness to travel between Hastings sites and drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Handle cleaning materials and equipment safely per health and safety rules.
• Use PPE and cleaning machinery correctly; report faults.

Estate Services Operative (Cleaning)

Location: Hastings, East Sussex - covering sites across TN34, TN35 and TN38

Contract: Temporary, Part Time

Hours: Monday to Friday

Shift: 7:00am-2:00pm

Pay Rate: £13.92 per hour

Contract Dates: ASAP start to 15 November 2026

DBS: Basic DBS required

Our client is looking for an Estate Services Operative to provide cleaning and estate services across a number of sites within the Hastings area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean communal areas to a high standard, including lifts, stairwells, floors, walls and windows.
• Keep refuse areas clean, tidy and safe.
• Carry out litter picking and remove bulk rubbish and fly tipping.
• Handle cleaning materials and equipment safely and in line with health and safety requirements.
• Use PPE and cleaning machinery correctly and report any faults or incidents.
• Follow risk assessments, COSHH requirements and other health and safety procedures.
• Assist with tasks such as snow clearance, gritting and minor repairs in communal areas when required.
• Manage and report cleaning materials and equipment.
• Use scheduling software to record daily activities.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as directed.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience in a cleaning, estate services or similar role.
• Experience using cleaning machinery and equipment.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to operate company vehicles, including vans and tipper transits.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
• Physically able to carry out manual duties.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Basic DBS required.

Desirable:

• NVQ or equivalent qualification in Cleaning or Environmental Services.
• Willingness to obtain a relevant qualification during the assignment.

This is a hands-on role covering multiple sites, so you will need to be reliable, practical and comfortable travelling between locations within the Hastings area.
