Job summary

A substantial rural estate in Norfolk seeks an ambitious Estate Manager to oversee land, properties and commercial activities across ~3,500 acres. Reporting to the Estate Owner, you will drive development, manage lettings, maintenance and biodiversity initiatives while expanding diversified income streams.

Ideal candidates hold AssocRICS/MRICS or equivalent rural land qualifications, strong budgeting skills, and solid IT/GIS capabilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Knowledge of rural property management and landlord/tenant legislation.
• Good numerical/commercial skills for budgets, forecasts and reports.
• Confident IT skills; interest in estate management software, GIS mapping, and digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage residential lettings and agricultural, commercial and industrial properties with tenancy agreements and rent reviews.
• Coordinate property maintenance, repairs, and budgets; identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support farming operations and manage grazing licences, woodland, marshland and land.
• Assist with agri-environment schemes, rural funding applications, biodiversity and natural capital opportunities.
• Develop moorings, boat hire, marine services, holiday accommodation, and leisure businesses.
• Monitor commercial performance and identify income and efficiency opportunities.
• Prepare budgets, cash flow forecasts, and management reports; handle rent collection and insurance.
• Maintain estate records/maps; support health and safety compliance; supervise staff/contractors.
• Contribute to improvements in digital systems and AI tool usage.
