Job Description

Sandwell College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Estate Fire Safety and Statutory Compliance Manager to oversee fire safety and statutory compliance across all college properties. You will ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, conduct audits, and manage risk to maintain a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Manage fire safety programs, conduct audits and inspections, ensure legal compliance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard the college community and infrastructure.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Candidates should have a NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety or equivalent, a Health and Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH or NEBOSH General Certificate), and relevant estates or facilities management qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3/4). At least three years’ experience in fire risk assessments, audits, and compliance is essential. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are required for travel across college sites. The role involves occasional out-of-hours work, including emergencies and work at heights or in confined spaces.
