Job summary

Aldenham Estate is seeking an experienced Estate Facilities & Maintenance Manager to keep our buildings, land and operations safe, compliant and well maintained. You will be out across the Estate, work with the in-house team, coordinate contractors and support tenants, ensuring issues are resolved before they escalate.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role with a focus on Health & Safety, risk assessments and record-keeping, plus occasional weekend or out-of-hours cover during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in property maintenance, facilities, estates, building maintenance or a similar practical environment.
• Experience with Health & Safety and compliance, including fire risk and Legionella management.
• Relevant Health & Safety training or certification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH).
• Experience managing contractors and tenants, and understanding leases/service charges.
• Ability to log work digitally and keep accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day property, facilities and general maintenance across the Estate.
• Support in-house maintenance team and gardener, getting hands-on where needed.
• Own Health & Safety and compliance across the Estate, including fire risk assessments and Legionella management.
• Identify issues early and decide whether to address in-house or through a contractor.
• Source, manage and monitor external contractors, ensuring safe, compliant and cost-appropriate work.
• Keep detailed maintenance, safety and compliance records, on-site logging and reporting to the Property team.
• Liaise with residential and commercial tenants and understand leases/service charges.
• Manage a part-time cleaner and support glamping/leisure operations, with occasional weekend/out-of-hours cover.
