Job summary

Mansfield District Council is recruiting an Estate Caretaker to maintain council-owned areas and ensure they are free from fly tipped rubbish, debris, graffiti, and litter. You will carry out inspections of communal areas within blocks of flats to ensure health and safety, building and fire regulations are met.

The role supports a statutory inspection programme across 350 blocks and 10 sheltered schemes, working with tenancy management and compliance teams. A full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain areas owned and managed by the council, keep free from fly-tipped rubbish, debris, graffiti and litter.
• Undertake inspections of communal areas within blocks of flats to ensure compliance with health and safety, building and fire regulations.
• Support the ongoing programme of inspection and re-inspection to achieve and maintain compliance.
• Work allocations will come from tenancy management and compliance teams.
