Job summary

ESS Employment Ltd is seeking a Warehouse Assistant and Packer for their Nailsworth area client. The role runs 07:00-17:00, Monday to Friday, with an immediate start and a path from temporary to permanent.

Candidate must be physically fit, detail‑oriented and willing to work in a small warehouse team. Forklift license is preferred, and transport or reliable lifts are required due to location.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit and hardworking.
• Ideally hold a valid Counterbalance forklift license.
• Be proactive, liaise with staff and maintain product quality.

Responsibilities

• General warehouse duties with a clean-as-you-go approach.
• Sort and convey goods to storage locations.
• Maintain stock rotation based on manufacturing date.
• Palletise and stack 16–25 kg bags.
• Operate shrink wrap machine to secure pallets.
• Load completed pallets onto vehicles.
• Pre-start forklift checks and ensure trucks are operational.
• Flexible hours and occasional overtime as required.
• Adhere to food safety policies and procedures.
• Accurate completion of delivery notes.

Job – Warehouse Assistant and Packer

Due to location please only apply for this role, if you have your own transport or access to reliable lifts Monday to Friday for the above hours.

Ess Employment Ltd have a unique opportunity for a highly motivated person to join our clients warehouse and packing team.

Our client’s aim is to provide the highest possible quality product to their customers.

Requirements

• You must be a physically fit, hardworking individual.
• Ideally a valid Counterbalance forklift license.
• “Be aware of” all parameters which may impact upon product quality and act on them by being a pro‑active team player, liaising and co‑operating with all members of staff.
• Working accurately and methodically.
• Capable of working within a small warehouse team with minimum guidance and instruction, with a high level of attention to detail.

Key Tasks

• General warehouse duties – including a ‘clean as you go’ approach
• Sorts and conveys goods to storage locations.
• Maintains stock rotation based on manufacturing date.
• Palletising and stacking 16kg – 25kg bags
• Operating Shrink wrap machine to securely wrap full pallets
• Vehicle loading of completed pallets
• Carrying our pre‑start up checks on forklift, ensuring that trucks are fully operational and maintained
• Flexible in working hours and occasionally willing to stay to complete the tasks as required.
• Adhere to stated policies and procedure relating to food safety.
• Accurate completion of delivery notes ensuring all required data is captured
