Job summary

Driver Hire Southampton is seeking a reliable Warehouse Assistant / Driver to join our Stockbridge team. The role combines warehouse duties with occasional driver responsibilities, with training and development opportunities provided.

A full UK driving licence is essential and age 25+ is required due to insurance restrictions. The position offers a Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm schedule, a temp-to-perm progression path, and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential.
• Reliable, hardworking and organised approach.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Must be aged 25 or over due to insurance requirements.
• Forklift licences would be advantageous but are not essential.

Responsibilities

• Picking customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Preparing orders for dispatch.
• Checking stock and ensuring orders are correct.
• Moving and organising stock within the warehouse.
• Loading vehicles ready for delivery.
• Carrying out customer deliveries when required.
• Providing holiday cover for drivers during quieter periods.
• Carrying out general warehouse duties.
• Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and organised.
• Following all health and safety procedures.
• Working as part of a team to meet daily requirements.

Warehouse Assistant / Driver - Stockbridge

Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative / Driver to join an established and successful agricultural supplies business based in Stockbridge.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position with the potential to become permanent, with training and development opportunities available.

The Role

You will initially be responsible for picking and preparing customer orders, ensuring goods are accurately selected and ready for dispatch.

The position also includes customer deliveries when required, along with providing holiday cover for the company's drivers during quieter periods between January-March and October-December.

This is a varied, hands-on position that would suit someone who enjoys a combination of warehouse and driving duties and is keen to develop their skills within a successful business.

Key Responsibilities

• Picking customer orders accurately and efficiently

A full UK driving licence is essential, as driving and delivery duties will form part of the role.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous warehouse experience, although this is not essential
• A reliable, hardworking and organised approach
• Good attention to detail
• A full UK driving licence
• The ability to work as part of a team
• A willingness to learn and develop within the role
• Must be aged 25 or over due to insurance requirements
• Counterbalance, Reach Truck or Order Picker experience/licences would be advantageous but are not essential

Training for the relevant forklift licences will be provided to the right candidate once permanent.
