Job summary

Adult Community Learning (ACL) in Colchester is seeking a Vocational Trainer - ESOL to deliver engaging ESOL teaching to adult learners and support progression into further study and employment.

The role is full-time, permanent, 37 hours per week, with teaching delivery across ACL locations as needed. A current ESOL qualification and relevant experience are required to help learners develop confidence and language skills.

Qualifications

• Essential ESOL teaching qualification and experience delivering ESOL to adult learners.
• Good digital literacy and ICT skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment within ESOL programmes, both face-to-face and online.
• Motivate and inspire learners to achieve their goals and progress in their learning.
• Plan and deliver effective learning programmes for diverse groups of adult learners within a safe and inclusive environment.
• Promote the benefits of technology and support learners to develop their digital confidence and skills.
• Use initial, diagnostic and formative assessment methods to identify starting points, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback.
• Set challenging targets and learning objectives that support learner achievement and progression.
• Support learners to develop personal, social and employability skills for progression into further learning and employment.
• Maintain accurate learner attendance, progress and achievement records using ACL systems.
