Job summary

Leeds City College is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support adults learners including ESOL and students studying English/Maths. The role is fixed-term (37 weeks per year) with a pro rata salary of £22,463 and a 37-hour week, with occasional evening work.

You will collaborate with teachers to identify ALS needs, create assessment plans, and help learners achieve SMART targets while contributing to the college's outstanding Adult provision.

Qualifications

• Hold a L2 or L3 teaching assistant qualification (or working towards).
• Strong spoken and written English.
• Experience supporting ESOL or second-language learners is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers to support individuals who have additional learning support needs.
• Identify ALS students and create an assessment plan to support them.
• Develop the essential knowledge and understanding to support ESOL learners.
• Support students to achieve their individual SMART learning targets.
• Monitor students to develop their skills to enable progression.
