Job summary

SMS seeks a dedicated Sustainability & Social Value Manager to cover maternity leave, ensuring continuity of key ESG activities across tenders, customer contracts and reporting. The role focuses on delivering Social Value commitments, coordinating data and evidence, and aligning ESG outputs with commercial deadlines.

You will work cross-functionally with Commercial, Operations, HR and Finance to produce high-quality outputs and maintain compliance and transparency throughout the contract

Qualifications

• Experience delivering or coordinating Social Value commitments within commercial environments.
• Proven ability to develop Sustainability, Social Value and ESG content for tenders and customer submissions.
• Strong reporting capability with data, KPIs and supporting documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a commercial setting.
• Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure or regulated environments.
• Delivery-focused, organized, with ownership from requirement to delivery.
• Commercial awareness of tender deadlines and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead Sustainability, ESG and Social Value content for tenders, PQQs and submissions with evidence-based responses.
• Coordinate responses to ESG questionnaires and information requests with SMEs.
• Interpret customer requirements and translate into clear, commercially relevant responses.
• Manage multiple tender requirements, prioritising by deadlines and risk.
• Coordinate Social Value delivery within contracts and track KPIs and evidence.
• Coordinate Sustainability reporting data collection, validation and content.
• Provide practical ESG guidance across tenders, contracts and customer needs.
