Job summary

Places for People Group is seeking an ESG Manager to lead the implementation of our Environmental Sustainability Strategy across leisure centres in the UK. You will drive energy efficiency, oversee green technology adoption, and develop policy responses to evolving environmental challenges while upskilling teams and ensuring accurate data to optimise site performance.

Qualifications

• Strong data analytical skills with knowledge of environmental policy and procedure.
• Experience managing onsite sustainability projects (PV, EV, CHP, AHSP).
• Proven ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
• Strong technical knowledge on BMS HVAQ systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of Environmental Sustainability Strategy with actionable plans and timelines.
• Identify funding opportunities and oversee green technology implementations.
• Develop policy responses to environmental challenges including EV infrastructure and broader green initiatives.
• Upskill teams and embed environmental best practices across operations.
• Collaborate with Energy Analyst to ensure accurate site data for energy performance.
• Conduct onsite audits of BMS systems and optimize energy use.
• Contribute to organizational working groups to shape environmental strategy.
• Matrix-manage colleagues across business areas to drive improvements.
