Job summary

Hartpury University and Hartpury College are seeking a dedicated Equine Centre support role to help deliver high-quality care for students, clients and visitors. The role involves practical supervision, liveries management and assisting with events on-site.

You will join a team focused on horse welfare, safety and professional standards, with on-site accommodation and CPD training provided as part of a permanent position.

Qualifications

• Team player with high standards of horse care and the enthusiasm to motivate students.
• Passionate about horse care and welfare, with commitment to high professional standards.
• Interest in Hartpury’s herd living experience.
• Opportunity to develop riding ability through staff development lessons each week.
• Ideally hold a minimum of BHS Stage 2 or equivalent industry recognised qualification.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, flexible approach to work.
• Experience in a large equine yard, commercial yard or educational setting would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Equine Department in providing a safe, professional experience for students, clients and visitors; maintain horse welfare.
• Assist with day-to-day running of the Equine Centre and supervise students during practical tasks; supervise liveries.
• Manage student and full liveries, promoting high standards of care, welfare and yard management.
• Maintain a safe, organised environment in line with health and safety requirements.
• Assist with hosting and running international equine events and commercial bookings.
• Live in shared accommodation on-site in a single occupancy double bedroom within a shared farmhouse, with facilities and parking.
