Job summary

Education Partnership North East at Kirkley Hall campus is seeking an authentic Equine Technician/Groom to support the Equine Studies programmes. You’ll care for horses daily, assist with riding lessons, and help prepare practical activities for students, while maintaining safe, professional stables and equipment.

You’ll work with passionate staff to promote a respectful learning environment, ensuring welfare of horses and students, and contributing to our high standards of education across

Qualifications

• GCSE grade 4 or equivalent in Mathematics.
• GCSE grade 4 or equivalent in English Language.
• Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject.
• Minimum of 2 years industry experience in the equine industry.
• Experience of working in a team.
• Experience of working in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Daily care of the college horses and horse husbandry responsibilities.
• Support students with yard duties and riding activities.
• Prepare practical activities to support teaching staff.

About the Role

As an Equine Technician/Groom, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of horse care and supporting the learning experience of our students. You will take authentic pride in providing daily care, feeding, grooming, and overall stable management to ensure the health, welfare, and happiness of all horses on site.

Working collaboratively with teaching staff, you will assist in preparing horses for riding lessons and practical sessions, contributing to an environment built on respect — for our animals, our students, and our colleagues. You will also take part in equine-related events and ensure the smooth upkeep of our stables, arenas, and equipment.

With a focus on excellence, you will maintain accurate records, follow best practice in horse management, and ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations to promote a safe, professional, and supportive working environment. This role calls for courage to take initiative, work with integrity, and model the values we instil in our students every day.

Role Responsibilities
