Job summary

Plumpton College in Lewes is looking for an experienced educator to deliver engaging teaching, learning and assessment across equine theory and practical units for levels 1–3. You will co-ordinate, lead and deliver across several units, supporting students to maximise their potential and progress.

You will bring a passion for the equine industry, strong coaching experience, and a proactive, well-organised approach to curriculum delivery.

• Ability to plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching, learning and assessment across theory and practical units.
• Co-ordinate, lead and deliver across units for levels 1–3.
• Assess students' progress through written and practical assessments.
• Monitor progress and support progression towards goals.
• Promote links to the equine industry and contribute to curriculum development.

Job description

You will deliver engaging teaching, learning and assessment, to support students to maximise their potential in making positive progress towards their success. The role involves you to co-ordinate, lead and deliver across several theory and practical units to a range of programme levels 1, 2 and 3.

You will

• Work with a diverse and passionate team of equine teaching professionals
• Plan, prepare and deliver highly effective lessons
• Support the diverse needs of students to ensure they reach their full potential
• Create engaging and interactive learning experiences to ensure high levels of attendance
• Assess students' progress through written and practical assessments
• Monitor and track students' progress to ensure they achieve their goals
• Promote learning through links to the equine industry
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement

You will bring:

• A passion of the equine industry to inspire others
• Have experience of coaching riding, practical and theory delivery across a wide range of abilities
• A highly organised and adaptable approach to your teaching and coaching
• Experience of the equine industry and have professional experience, and a formal qualification to recognise this knowledge
• A proactive approach to managing deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality and professional development
