Job summary

Plumpton College in England seeks an experienced Agriculture lecturer to deliver Level 2 to higher-level programmes while supporting learners across practical and theory-based lessons.

The role offers full teacher training, structured induction, CPD, and opportunities to work with industry partners. A relocation package is available, along with a Teachers' Pension, generous holiday allowance, and a welcoming bonus up to 6,000.

Qualifications

  • UK agriculture, farming or rural industry experience.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong subject knowledge across areas such as farm management, livestock, arable, soil science, agri-tech, sustainability, animal science or agricultural consultancy.
  • Teaching experience desirable but not essential; full training, induction and CPD provided.

As an Agriculture Lecturer, you'll plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons across a range of Agriculture programmes. You'll assess learner work, track progress, provide constructive feedback, support tutorials, contribute to quality improvement, and work closely with employers and stakeholders to ensure learners are prepared for successful careers within the industry.

The ideal candidate will have experience within UK agriculture, farming, or the wider rural sector. You may have a background in farm management, livestock, arable, soil science, agri-tech, sustainability, animal science, agricultural consultancy, or a related area. Previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential, as full in-house teacher training, structured induction, coaching and CPD can be provided.

The person:
  • UK agriculture, farming or rural industry experience.
  • Relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong subject knowledge across areas such as farm management, livestock, arable, soil science, agri-tech, sustainability, animal science or agricultural consultancy.
  • Passionate about supporting and developing learners.
  • Teaching experience desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Committed to safeguarding, equality and student success.
  • Flexible around full-time or part-time working.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Plumpton, or open to relocation support.
  • Looking for a long-term opportunity within land-based education.
