Job summary

MRR Infrastructure Limited is seeking an experienced EPC Project Manager to lead the delivery of high‑voltage transmission projects in the UK from the Walpole base. You will manage from concept through completion, ensuring safety, quality and commercial performance.

Based on the Walpole project with hybrid working (3 days onsite) and a rolling 6–12 month contract with potential extensions. Experience with 132kV–400kV projects is essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering EPC transmission projects.
  • HV substation projects (132kV–400kV).
  • Experience with Transmission Network Owners (e.g. National Grid, SSEN, SPEN).
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and health & safety management.

  • Lead end-to-end execution of EPC transmission projects.
  • Manage scope, programme, budget and commercial performance.
  • Own project profit & loss and successful delivery.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans and contract documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and project controls teams.

EPC Project Manager

Location: Walpole, Norfolk (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

IR35 Determination: Outside IR35

Duration: 6 – 12 months rolling contract with potential for extension

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EPC Project Manager to join a leading engineering and construction business delivering major transmission infrastructure projects across the UK. Based primarily on the Walpole project, you will lead the successful delivery of high-voltage substation projects within the UK transmission sector. Working alongside Senior Project Managers and multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, commercial, and construction teams, you will manage projects from concept through to completion while ensuring safety, quality, programme, and commercial performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with proven experience delivering EPC projects for Transmission Network Owners, particularly within 132kV–400kV substations.

Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of EPC transmission projects.
  • Manage project scope, programme, budget, and commercial performance.
  • Take ownership of project profit & loss and successful project delivery.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans and contract documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls teams.
  • Lead value engineering and constructability reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary client interface for allocated projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present progress reports covering cost, schedule, procurement, risk, safety, and environmental performance.
Commercial & Risk Management
  • Drive cost control alongside commercial and project controls teams.
  • Support subcontractor and supply chain selection.
  • Lead internal risk reviews and approval processes.
  • Contribute to EPC proposals, bid submissions, and technical presentations.
Health, Safety & Leadership
  • Champion safety and ensure full compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Provide construction management oversight during project execution.
  • Mentor junior team members and support the development of project staff.
  • Work collaboratively across multiple projects and manage competing priorities effectively.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering EPC transmission projects.
  • Strong background managing HV substation projects (132kV–400kV).
  • Experience working for or alongside Transmission Network Owners (National Grid, SSEN, SPEN, etc.).
  • Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations and health & safety management.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and P&L.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
  • Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Eligible to work in the UK and operate through a Limited Company.
Desirable
  • Experience delivering projects for SSEN transmission networks.
  • Background in value engineering and constructability reviews.
  • Professional project management qualifications (APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
