Job summary

Sumitomo Electric U.K. Power Cables Ltd. in Glasgow seeks an ambitious Project Accountant to support EPC project delivery. You will partner with project teams, manage multi-currency reporting, and ensure cost control across long-term high-value initiatives.

The role reports to the Finance Manager and involves day-to-day financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and close activities, with broader involvement in tendering and stakeholder collaboration. An ACCA/ICAE/ CIMA pathway is supported.

Qualifications

• Part qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACCA/ICAS/CIMA) with 3-5 years project accounting experience.
• Experience in construction industry essential; CIS and reverse charge exposure preferred.
• Strong IFRS 15 knowledge and multi-currency reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Financial management and reporting of EPC projects from initiation to completion.
• Monitor costs, commitments, accruals, provisions and actual expenditure vs budgets.
• Serve as Finance Business Partner to project owners and manage project P&L.
• Track labour, materials, subcontractor costs, overheads and other expenses.
• Support cash-flow forecasting and project financial planning.
• Assist with month-end / year-end close and intercompany recharges.
• Provide cost/ accounting input at tender stage and assist audits.
