Are you passionate about helping students who struggle to access mainstream education?

Academics is looking for dedicated, creative and compassionate EOTAS Tutors to work on a 1:1 basis with students who need a different approach to learning.

You could be supporting a student experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), ADHD, ASC or autism, helping them rebuild their confidence, re-engage with education and discover their potential.

This is more than just tutoring - it's about building trust, breaking down barriers and helping young people take positive steps towards their future.

What will you be doing?

  • Delivering engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition tailored to each student's individual needs, interests and abilities.
  • Supporting students with EBSA, ADHD, ASC, autism and additional SEN needs.
  • Creating a safe, supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable and confident.
  • Developing creative and flexible lessons to re-engage students who may have struggled within a traditional classroom setting.
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing, resilience, confidence and positive learning behaviours alongside academic progress.
  • Helping students work towards achievable goals in English, Maths and other relevant subjects.
  • Building positive relationships with students and working collaboratively with families and other professionals.

Who are we looking for?

  • Qualified teachers looking for a more flexible and rewarding role.
  • Experienced SEN teachers, tutors, HLTA’s and teaching assistants.
  • Retired teachers who want to continue making a meaningful difference.
  • Education professionals with experience supporting students with EBSA, ADHD, ASC, autism or SEMH needs.
  • Creative, patient and adaptable individuals who understand that every student learns differently.

Most importantly, you must be passionate about helping young people succeed at their own pace.

Why work through Academics?

  • Flexible tutoring opportunities to suit your availability.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to students who need additional support.
  • The chance to deliver personalised tuition and see the impact of your work.
  • Opportunities to use your creativity and develop meaningful learning relationships.
  • Support from a team that understands the importance of SEN and alternative education.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
