Job summary

Ubique Systems in Glasgow is seeking a contract-based engineer to design and implement secure gateway solutions using Golang or Java. You will work with REST APIs designed via OpenAPI and deploy with Kubernetes and Terraform, ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines.

This 6-month contract (extendable) focuses on building cloud-native gateway services, with emphasis on authentication, authorization, and secure communications.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Golang or Java with cloud-native experience.
• Hands-on experience with Envoy Proxy or Envoy Gateway.
• Strong REST API design using OpenAPI Specification (OAS).
• Practical authentication and authorization at the gateway (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, mTLS).
• End-to-end DevOps skills across CI/CD, Kubernetes and Terraform.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Programming languages: Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages — Golang or Java.
• Cloud-native operations: Practical, hands-on cloud-native experience.
• Envoy: Professional experience with Envoy Proxy or Envoy Gateway.
• API design: Strong understanding of the OpenAPI Specification (OAS) for RESTful APIs.
• Authentication & authorization: Hands-on experience implementing authentication and authorization at the gateway, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT validation, and mutual TLS (mTLS).
• DevOps toolchain: Expertise across the DevOps toolchain, including CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
