Job summary

Uniting People seeks an Envoy API Engineer for a major banking programme in Glasgow. The role requires hands‑on experience with Envoy Proxy/Gateway, API security, and cloud‑native engineering. You will work onsite in Glasgow on a 6‑month contract, with strong DevOps exposure including Kubernetes and Terraform.

The ideal candidate has banking/financial services experience and proficiency in Golang and/or Java, RESTful APIs, and OpenAPI-driven security, including OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, and mTLS.

Qualifications

• Experience with Golang and/or Java.
• Hands-on cloud-native engineering experience.
• Experience with Envoy Proxy and/or Envoy Gateway.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and OpenAPI.
• Experience implementing authentication/authorization at API gateway level.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on engineering in a major banking programme onsite in Glasgow.
• Integrate with Envoy-based API security and cloud-native tooling.
• Implement and manage authentication and authorization at API gateway level.
• Work with CI/CD, Kubernetes and Terraform pipelines.
