Job summary

Ubique Systems is seeking an experienced API and cloud-native professional to design and secure RESTful APIs at scale. You will work across API management, OpenAPI, and security practices, while driving efficient deployment pipelines.

Ideal candidates bring Golang or Lua proficiency, hands-on Kubernetes and Terraform experience, and a strong grasp of CI/CD workflows in a cloud-native environment. Based in the UK, collaboration with product and CI teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages (Golang or Lua).
• Hands-on cloud-native operations experience.
• Professional experience with API management technologies (e.g., Apigee, Kong, or MuleSoft).
• Strong understanding of the OpenAPI Specification (OAS) for RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on API security experience including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, key-auth and mutual TLS (mTLS).
• Expertise across the DevOps toolchain, including CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills -

• Programming languages: Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages - Golang or Lua Script.


• Cloud-native operations: Practical, hands-on cloud-native experience.


• API management: Professional experience with API management technologies (e.g., Apigee, Kong, or MuleSoft).


• API design: Strong understanding of the OpenAPI Specification (OAS) for RESTful APIs.


• API security: Hands-on experience securing APIs at the gateway, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT validation, key-auth, and mutual TLS (mTLS).


• DevOps toolchain: Expertise across the DevOps toolchain, including CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• AWS: Experience with AWS services, including ECS, EKS, and MSK.


• API gateway: Hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway.


• Golang: Proficiency in the Golang programming language.


• Lua: Proficiency in the Lua programming language.
