Role: Toxicologist (Environmental Analytical Chemistry)

Contract Role

Location: Remote, UK Coverage

We are currently seeking an Independent Analytical Chemistry Technical Assessor in Toxicology. Our external Technical Assessors play a vital role in the UKAS assessment process, providing essential expertise to deliver robust evaluations for laboratories across the UK.

Ongoing right to work in the UK is a prerequisite for this position.

Ideal candidates will have experience in toxicology or workplace drug testing, along with the following qualifications:

• Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing laboratory.
• A deep understanding of quality control across various analytical techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of data performance checks and data integrity requirements.
• Experience handling matrices involved in toxicology testing.
• Experience with screening and instrumental techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with laboratory staff, management, and customers at all levels.

Key Skills:

• Practical experience in a laboratory setting.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry-standard methods and relevant sector schemes.
• Experience in ISO/IEC 17025 standard testing and calibration laboratories.
• Experience with internal or external auditing is advantageous.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with Certification Body staff, Senior Management Teams, Assessment Centres, and customers.
• Training will be provided to become an Assessor in Report Writing to UKAS standards, including ISO/IEC 17024:2012 awareness and UKAS systems training.
