Job summary

Thales is recruiting an Environmental Test Technician to join our Glasgow site. You will support production teams, contribute to the quality and reliability of products, and work within a structured, collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, record-keeping, and using MS Word/Excel. Weekend Fri-Sun shifts are required, with training and development opportunities offered by Thales UK Manufacturing & Engineering.

Qualifications

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Basic mechanical background and experience with common tools desired.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Detail-oriented, organised, and pride in work.
• Able to work in a team but also independently.
• Good communication and active listening; willing to learn new skills.
• Bonus for manufacturing/production experience and lifting/slinging know‑how.

Responsibilities

• Using torque wrenches and multi-meters.
• Supporting simple electrical testing with power supplies and diagnostic tools.
• Accurately recording work and following procedures using MS Word, Excel and other Office tools.
