Job summary

At Amentum, we are recruiting an Environmental & Sustainability Manager to lead the SZC E&S team on a high‑profile nuclear construction project in Suffolk. You will ensure compliance with permits, licences, and commitments, and act as the main interface with regulators and contractors.

The role oversees a multidisciplinary team of about 10, governs environmental monitoring, KPIs and reporting, and supports pre‑construction through commissioning in a governance framework with ISO 14001

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading E&S teams on major, highly regulated construction projects.
• Strong understanding of environmental permits, licences, and compliance arrangements.
• Broad construction knowledge across civils, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning.
• Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work across technical disciplines and operate from site to boardroom.
• Experience working with regulators and managing regulatory commitments.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to E&S teams and Tier 1 contractors.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits, licences, consents, and ISO 14001.
• Oversee site inspections, surveillance, and performance monitoring.
• Drive environmental and sustainability performance across SZC and supply chain.
• Develop and implement KPIs and reporting for continuous improvement.
• Support delivery teams across pre-construction, construction, and commissioning.
