Job summary

BAM Infrastructure is seeking a Project Environmental Sustainability Advisor to support the Environmental Sustainability team across Scotland. You will help deliver EMS and sustainability strategy on major civil projects, build links with the project team, and drive improvements in environmental performance through monitoring, training and documentation.

The role requires on-site work five days a week with travel as part of the day, and a focus on construction sustainability in the energy

Qualifications

• Associate-level or above member of ISEP or a similar professional body.
• Degree-level qualification in Environmental Management or equivalent technical qualification.
• Passion for sustainability with construction focus and drive for improvement.
• Experience in environmental sustainability advisory or Environmental Clerk of Works roles; 3+ years preferred.
• Good technical knowledge in sustainability areas and benchmarks.
• Articulate communication skills.
• Ability to inspire colleagues across a company to engage with sustainability objectives.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with construction teams, clients, supply chain and stakeholders to ensure effective environmental sustainability communication.
• Support on environmental aspects of project delivery to implement EMS and sustainability strategy.
• Regular monitoring and inspections to identify risks and opportunities for environmental performance.
• Investigate environmental incidents and advise on actions.
• Contribute to internal environmental sustainability training.
• Prepare site-specific environmental documentation and records.
• Maintain environmental databases and systems as required.
• Attend progress meetings and provide input on environmental issues.
